About Me

I am a dedicated, caring and affectionate person who is always ready to listen. I am Maltese, and I have moved to Ireland to finish my studies and start my psychotherapy and counselling practice here. I have just finished my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences. I am fuelled by my passion to help and understand the various difficulties people might be going through. I would love to be a part of the journey that is your life, with you!

Experience

Counselling for 1 years

I have been providing counselling and psychotherapy session to men who have addiction problems for the past year. I also am part of CanTalk which is a cancer support group for anyone who has been affect by cancer in any way, at any point in their life. I am also a social care worker at a residential home. Together with my team, I support the service users who have different needs, mental health difficulties and learning abilities.

Approach

I use an integrative and person-centred approach to therapy. I use this approach as it works to understand an individual’s experience from their own perspective. Through this approach, the client is positively valued as a person in all aspects of their humanity, while aiming to be open and genuine, thus guiding them to find their own way to move forward and progress. I also appreciates the value of Carl Rogers’ three core conditions: empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regards, as she finds they are the tools to hold a solid therapeutic relationship. In my sessions, I evaluates the clients’ thoughts, behavioural patterns and emotional responses that emerge during the sessions. I am also positive and motivational, and continuously aims to empower my clients to reach their goals.

Qualification

My most recent qualification is my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have a Higher Diploma in Psychology qualification and a Bachelors in Arts in English & Psychology. I am also a pre-accredited psychotherapist with APCP (The Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland)
